Hatha Yoga

Yoga is a non-competitive practice that we can adapt for any stage of life and age. It is a holistic practice, incorporating body and mind enhancing your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It teaches us to notice and listen to how we feel.

Yoga poses and movements work with the flow of the breath, static and dynamic. They bring our awareness of the body from the external to the internal.

We are all individual, you do not have to be super flexible to start yoga and I reflect that in my teaching, offering modifications, stages and challenges to be inclusive for all abilities.

“Yoga is not about touching your toes,

it is about what you learn on the way down.”

– Jigar Gor

“Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts. Whenever your mind becomes scattered, use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again.”

– Thich Nhat Hanh

Menopause Yoga

Menopause Yoga is a mix of Western medical science and Eastern wellbeing offering a therapeutic approach to help and enable women to manage the symptoms of their menopause journey.

Symptoms can include anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, mood swings, brain fog, hot flushes, low libido, joint pain and low mood.

Often society has shown us a negative view of ageing and this stage in a woman’s life, Menopause Yoga aims to provide women with a positive perspective – physically, mentally and spiritually. Whilst also providing them with techniques to help ease and reduce their symptoms.

Self-care and Menopause Workshops

Self-care and Menopause Yoga Workshops are an opportunity for women, approaching or in any stage of the menopause, to come together in a supportive space to share and embrace their experiences about menopause health.

The workshops include signposted information about nutrition, exercise, HRT and natural remedies and supplements. There are adapted yoga practices with specific poses, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxations to help manage symptoms along with women’s circles and time for self-reflection.

Overall, we want to reduce stress and anxiety, cool and calm the mind and body, build and maintain bone and muscle strength and bring balance to the endocrine and nervous systems.
